What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you book your recording session and/or order products.

When booking a recording session, ordering products, or registering on our site (as appropriate), you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address and phone number. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

To personalise your experience
(your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs)
To improve our website
(we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)

Do we use cookies?

Yes (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognise your browser and capture and remember certain information. We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Bookings and orders for children under the age of 13 must be made by an adult with only the adult’s personal information provided. The adult is required to communicate with Studio Star that the recording session booking or order is being made on the behalf of a child under the age of 13.

 

Online Privacy Policy Only

This online privacy policy applies only to information collected through our website and not to information collected offline.

Song Copyright and Licensing

In accordance with song copyright laws, you are not permitted to sale copies (in any format) of your recording session song(s).

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule a Studio Star recording session, please contact us 24 hours in advance.  

It's absolutely fine to reschedule a previously booked session in a given day into a different available empty session slot in that same day without losing your payment, even if you miss the 24 hour cancellation period; however, there will be no refunds for complete cancellations if you miss the 24 hour cancellation window.  

If you miss the 24 hour cancellation window, but would like to simply reschedule for a different day, please call or email us, and we will consider your situation on an individual basis (which is likely to conclude in your favour).

 

Refund Policy

Physical Goods:

Physical good have a 14-day cooling off period (from the date of receiving the goods), within which you can cancel / return your order. Studio Star will refund your full purchase price providing one (or more) of these conditions are met (conditions marked with an asterisk (*) are required):

  • Your bank / Paypal account was illegally charged (fraud)

  • You provide a reasonable explanation why the refund needs to be made.

  • The goods have not been used / damaged *

  • The goods are not in the condition they were received *

We cannot refund you any monies when the item is bespoke / made to order (excluding manufacturing defects, in which case a new version will be made).

​

Delivery is free for all of our products.  If you order the incorrect size, and would like a replacement; simply reorder the correct size from our shop, and send your original order back to us for a refund (providing the item is not damaged).  You will be responsible for the postage cost for your return.

 

Please be sure to include your name, address, email address and phone number on the returns form that came with your order, and place it inside the package.  Once we've recieved your return, we will promptly issue your refund. Your refund will be issued to the same payment method used to place your order.  

If the order error was ours, we will happily refund the cost of postage.  In this case, please place a copy of your postal receipt inside your return package along with the provided return slip.

Studio Star Recording Session Bookings:

Studio Star will refund your full purchase price providing one (or more) of these conditions are met (conditions marked with an asterisk (*) are required):

  • Your bank / Paypal account was illegally charged (fraud)

  • You provide a reasonable explanation why the refund needs to be made.

  • Work on your project has not yet commenced

Studio Star Recording Sessions Restrictions:

Your song choice is according to availability; we will notify you if you song choice is not available, and issue a refund as applicable. 

On completion of your Studio Star recording session, you are not permitted to copy or sale the recording.

Recording sessions children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult (one adult only), and all booking details must be for the adult, not the child.  You are permitted to give the child's name for the Studio Star Certificate, or opt out completely.  

Only two individuals are allowed to attend a Studio Star recording session; for example, the individual who booked the session can bring a friend or family member along.  With duet bookings, only the two booked (duet) clients are allowed to attend.  If the duet clients are two children under the age of 13; then one adult must accompany them; in this case, three individuals are allowed to attend the Studio Star recording session.
